Strengthening Enterprise Learning Partnerships

Strengthening collaboration between enterprise and the education and training system is essential for ensuring programmes are kept up-to-date and relevant for employers, students, and workers. This is important in fields where enterprises are experiencing continuing difficulties with skills recruitment, including in science, engineering, technology, construction, and finance.

A total of 151,600 awards were made across the Further and Higher Education and Training system in the last year at various NFQ levels. Half of these awards were in social science, business, health, and welfare, with a quarter in science, ICT, and engineering, representing a significant investment in human capital development.
